Following musicians in tight velvet outfits

Why not walk the alleys of Mexico at night listening to guys play music?  Ok, ok, it's not what you think.  So basically, in Guanajuato there's a fun tradition of dudes in renaisance style clothes (read: black velvet outfits) that start in the town square signing and playing instruments.  The idea is that these Callejoneadas (literally alley guys) entertain a crown walking through streets and narrow alley-ways singing, dancing, and of course drinking.

Callejoneadas in Guanajuato

We sat down listening to the opening of the show, and got up to leave with the band, not realizing that they had a private party with them.  Lucky for us, the groom was happy to have 2 guests, and he quickly handed us two jug-like mugs to enjoy their party.  We joined Anne and Andrés and their family and friends walking the streest of Guanajuato.  (He's originally from a city nearby and she's from Denver.)

Basically hilarity ensued and we enjoyed swaying, clapping, and drinking orangeade out of our mugs (typically people drink tequilla or wine but this being a family affair, we stuck with the orange stuff).

Congratulations to Anne and Andrés & thanks for letting us join the fun!
