We're Addicted, Please Help

Feelin' scared
We can't stop. We just want to do it over and over again. It creeps into our thoughts and conversations. We plan the next time we are doing it. We even get our friends to join us so that we don't do it alone! It's taking over our lives!
Feelin' scared
We're addicted to...
BOARD GAMES!

It's not totally what you think. It's not like we get our fix by staying in our homes or by playing with seedy people in dark allys. We do go out to board game cafes and interact with the public. Although, we have now gone 3 times in the past week and we have no plans to stop. We could stop if we wanted to, though. We just don't want to stop. But we could go cold turkey at the drop of a dime. Really, we could.

What? You don't believe me? Ok, just because the people that work in the board cafes know us, it does not mean we have a problem. Also, just because we almost always stay until closing doesn't mean anything. It also doesn't mean anything that we stay for so long that they usually end up giving us free drinks as well. I know, I know; you think they're our enablers in this whole addiction. But don't call them that. They're just being friendly, ok?
Ok, ok. We can stop we can do it, I swear. Just let me do it again next weekend. Just once. Well, maybe a couple times after that, but then it's really over. I swear.
Now, where did I put those Uno cards?

It's actually Settlers of Catan, which is the best game ever.
Oh my goodness. We were just talking about Settlers of Catan (with great enthusiasm) this weekend, lamenting that buying it here would be W50,000. Didn't occur to me to go to a board game cafe!
Our friend taught us how to play about a month ago, and we just can't stop now! It's soooo fun! A friend is thinking about buying it though - in the hours we've spent playing it, we've definitely spent over W50,000. Looking forward to connecting with you soon!
We love Settlers of Catan! We just need to find dorky people in New Jersey to play it with!
Ya, it's too bad it takes 3-4 people. It's hard to find nerds sometimes who will admit that they like playing it.
I have heard of this game - now I need to go out and buy it. My boyfriend and I also LOVE board games.
If you are in search of a dorky game for 2, Agricola can be played with 2-5 :) Unfortunately, I am really bad at it :(
As parental units, we probably need to confess....on Oprah, of course..... that the beginnings of Bessie's addiction can probably be traced to those family gatherings filled with Clue, Monopoly, Pictionary, Scattegories, Madlib, etc. If you suddenly find that you can't live without a good jigsaw puzzle, come home quickly, before its too late!
Just don't get Cities and Knights...that's the harder stuff right there.
