Kyle posted a few weeks back about being torn about going on a trip to these far flung isles - I'm pretty happy he went along with it. We boarded the overnight bus with 45 other foreigners and drove 6 hours south, about as far from Seoul as you can get in South Korea. A rough 2 hour boat ride later, we were surrounded by the rocky islands I dreamed of since my Dad told me about them a year ago. Baekdo translates to 100 islands, and they're a string of rocks jutting out of the water on the southern coast of Korea. I'll say it, it's beautiful.

Can you find the little, red specks near the water in the center of the big rock? Some nut jobs on a fishing tour got dropped on the side of a rock cliff. I passed on that tour.

"Say Cheese, rocks!" We cruised around on a tour boat for a few hours getting close to the rocks, but oh, oh, hey! Don't get too close!

After the boat tour, we did some great hiking from Geomundo where we were staying. Here are the high points.

Our friend Holly finding her happy place.

The waters were so bad the day we were meant to head back to the mainland that the Coast Guard gave us two thumbs down on the traveling. Our school wasn't so happy, but we got an extra day off getting - sweet!
