A Korean 4th of July

You can take the Expats out of America, but you can't take America out of the Expats. 

To celebrate the 4th of July, we found ourselves at a rooftop barbeque that if you look beyond the fog mountain tops and the Korean apartment towers around, you might have though you were in the States.  Americans and friends gathered around for burgers & weenies on the grill, ametuers firing bottle rockets, and singing Happy Birthday to America.

Kyle even dressed for the occasion.

14 floors up, we made every Harry Potter reference possible while shooting off bottle rockets:
Wingardium Leviosa!  Expelliarmus!

We spun like children with sparklers, and Kyle took the extra step for America and drank MGD.

  Looks like a great 4th! Our weather here was rainy so we had grilled barbeque chicken...indoors. The rain stopped in time for the fireworks however. From our front yard, we could easily see the park district display over the meadow. From our deck, we could also witness the excessive illegal display of explosive devices by the families living on Everett. They are far beyond the sparkler level and must have spent a ton of $$. Television provided a great show from Washington, DC with music and amazing pyrotechnics. A great American birthday!
