My Favorite Toilet in the World!

Feelin' excited
Back in February, I wrote about having a bidet in our apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was a lovely device, but being seperate from the toilet & something you can't sit on, it was a little clumsy to use. The Japanese have however resolved these issues, and I give you:
Feelin' excited

This lovely number was in Hotel Vibrant in Otaru, Japan, but similar toilets are throughout Japan.

- heated seat
- behind water bidet
- ladies' bidet
- water strength adjusting knob for the bidets (the round dial)
- the red button is not an ejector seat, yet a toilet flushing sound effect to "avoid embarassement"
- two-way flushing handle (forward or back for a smaller or larger flush)
And the most beloved feature:
- it has a built in sink!

Why do I love this toilet?
Love is a serious word, but when it comes to enjoying the toilet experience it has it all. If you've never used a heated toilet seat, it's down-right luxurious. I dig all the water bidet features, and the cover-up sound effect is a nice touch.
However, the best thing it does is allow you to double use the water. I'm not the first to ask, why the heck are we using perfectly good drinking water to flush away our dirty business? This allows you to wash you hands with water that will fill the toilet tank and later flush everything clean.
It's brilliant, and I can't wait until these things are more widely available world-wide. I will own one someday!!!!

That is the greatest thing ever! Why don't we have those here? I want one for my house.
WOW!!!
just hearing the toilet flush over and over would be enough to crack me up lol
I did it in the airport, and I didn't know how to turn it off... I was so embarassed, like it was a giveaway I was making embarrassing sounds...

The heated seat and 'embarrassing button' are my two favorite features.
Impressive. Hmmmmm. Where do you place your feet while using the sink?
i sort of stood to the side - it's a tad awkward, but really cool!
I'm very impressed - I've never seen anything like this before. Looking forward to this toilet coming to North America.
But....is the water heated!?
this is one thing I couldn't figure out - the water was room temp, but I'm sure that they make toilets with temperature adjustments.
Wow....the ultimate in luxury. I thought the European toilets were "advanced" having two flush buttons....one small for "small" stuff and one large for ummmmm "larger" stuff. This model is amazing. I agree, the built-in bidet is a great improvement! I never figured out how to comfortably "approach" the standard bidet. Very awkward from a usage standpoint. The only feature it seems to lack is that automatic plastic cover thingy that moves after each use to provide sanitation for the next user. I wonder if they have specialized toilet repairmen....on call for immediate service if the gadget fails. If your washing machine malfunctions, you can wait a day or so for the serviceman to come....but your toilet????
yeah, this is bidet luxury in my mind, and something tells me there are even more advanced bidets in Japan! I'm sure there's a whole industry of toilet repairs & maybe even add-ons like Holiday songs! :)
As always, I have a few questions!!! You never mentioned using paper, so does this thing eliminate the need for toilet tissue? How do you dry hands after using the "sink" feature? Does the entire toilet ever malfunction such as during a power failure? Do munufacturers offer a workshop in the optimum usage of toilet equipment? Is there a time limit for toilet procedures or can you stick around and play for hours? Do they come in different colors? What does a typical supertoilet cost with these wonderful features?!!! Thanks for sharing this innovation with us farm folks!
This can eliminate the need for paper, but for me, the habit would die hard. No electricity would not allow some of the features I'm sure, but websites talk about non-electrical versions.
www.magicjohn.com shows a variety of bidet seats that you can add to standard toilets. They start around $500.
I couldn't find the price for this sink in the top toilet, but Gaiam sells a toilet top sink product for $100!! I want one!!! http://www.gaiam.com/product/eco-home-outdoor/bathroom/accessories/toilet+lid+sink.do?product_id=02-0334
If we can put a man on the moon, we can surely do this.
