Kansas City: History, BBQ, and Tattoos

Ah, Kansas City. A town well-known for...umm....what is it well known for? Well, to be honest, when I was growing up there, I had no idea. It was the World Champion Royals, but that was in, like, 1985, so I can't really go on that.Feelin' normal
BBQ
I think the first thing that comes to mind when I think of KC (outside of my awesome family, of course) is Barbeque. As far as I'm concerned the BBQ in KC is the best in the world and that's not just because it's my hometown. Believe me, I would tell you if it sucked.
On Our Own Path Photo Exhibition
Written by Kyle on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in United States
Feelin' happy
For those of you in the Kansas City area, please come to our photo exhibition. My awesome cousin, Todd, is putting some of our photos on display at a photo gallery in Kansas City for any interested person to come by and see and buy. That's right, some of our photos from the trip will be on sale so that you can decorate that room that needs a little something extra. All the proceeds from the photos will go to Glasswing International, which, if you remember, is the non-profit that we volunteered with in El Salvador.
Feelin' happy
In addition, there will be some snacks served and we will tell some in-depth stories about our travels, some of which didn't make it to the pages of this blog. We hope that anyone in the area can make it! The location is as follows:
Stalk-O-rama Barack O-bama: Visiting Hyde Park

Feelin' normal
We could have seen a musical or gone shopping, but for a fun mother-daughter day, my mom chose visiting some "Barack Obama sites" in Hyde Park, on Chicago's southside. With all the Barack craze this past year, there was no shortage of news articles or reports detailing Barack's favorite spots, and we were sure to visit them all. Feelin' normal

Carnival in Gueleguaychú: A Parade for Adults, Designed By People on Drugs
Written by Kyle on Sunday, March 01, 2009 in Argentina
Feelin' amused
Wow, I don't even know how to begin with describing a Carnival parade. From what I could best tell of the parade in Gualeguaychu, Argentina it is some sort of mix of cirque du soleil and a stripper show with some beer and super repetitive music thrown in.
Feelin' amused
For any Carnival novices out there (myself included), the deal behind Carnival it is to get your party on before the 40 days of Lent. There are parades, people wear maquerade style costumes, and you imbibe. Wikipedia tells me that the word literally means "meat is allowed" (as opposed to Lent when christians don't eat meat). If you have a frat-guy vocabulary, you'll understand that there was plenty of meat to be had.
