Feelin' happy
Today is the last day of my nearly 2 weeks in Chicago, and it was wonderful. Kyle and I split off, and I enjoyed my truly indulgant time with loved ones while he further pursued his love/ hate relationship with learning spanish.

Feelin' happy
I embraced babies, spent pretty much every waking minute visiting people, hugged what feels like hundreds of people, and yes, Kyle, drank tasty beer. I was welcomed by smiles and hospitality everywhere I went, and enjoyed the brownies, Indian Food and Jamba Juice I'd been craving for months. And by far, the most talked about tale from the road was our karaoke adventure.
Searching for "Wolf" in Monteverde

"..I was in monteverde (with su’s mom) in january 1970 for a few weeks. Many memories: primitive (mud) road up from paved road; 2-day hike over the continental divide led by a true mountain man whose name was “wolf” – was one of the original quaker war-resister settlers from iowa, as I recall; finding a scorpion between our sheets one night; wolf shooting a python along the trail; staying overnight in a cabin along the trail, provisioned with some potatoes, and expectation that every traveling party to stays replenishes the food for next party..."
My (not so) normal life

Not-so-normal: On the way to school, I pass by a swarm of vultures feasting on the dead carcass of some animal. I'm glad I ate breakfast before I saw this.
Of Imaginary Numbers and the Subjuctive

Remember when in Algebra class you learned all about imaginary numbers? No? Ok, a refresher. i = square root of -1 and it's imaginary because there is no square root of negative one. So, if you express something like 2i, it means it is two times the square root as one, which means twice of something that doesn't exist. And i squared? That equals -1 which brings you back into "real" numbers again. Sigh.
200 Days: Secrets Behind Our Vagabonding

I've done the student thing. The work 9-5 thing. Lately I subscribe to the traveling vagabond, and boy do I like it. I sometimes don't know where my next meal is coming from, where I'll be sleeping that night, let alone where I might be month from now. It's exhilirating.
